What drove you to choose a career in your discipline?
I chose a career in speech pathology because I love helping people, I love being creative and I love a good chat!
Do you have any special interest areas in therapy?
I am currently upskilling in dysphagia and mealtimes! This is a special interest of mine because I come from a big family and I know how important mealtimes can be. Not only so that we can get fed but to spend time with each other, spread the love and enjoy ourselves! I want to make sure that my clients are able to enjoy their meals and celebrations with their friends and family safely. I also have a strong interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Seeing my clients work towards their goals through having access to extra modes of communication such as AAC makes me smile!
What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part is making sure that I bring activities or ideas which not only target intervention but are also fun and important to my clients!
Why did you join Superyou?
One thing that stood out to me about Superyou was being asked “what do you love about speech pathology?” in the job interview… I had never been asked that before and it certainly made me think!
