Joshua is an Occupational Therapist and OT Team Leader with over 10 years’ experience working in the disability sector. He has strong experience supporting school‑aged children and young adults, particularly those transitioning from high school into adulthood. Joshua has worked extensively with people with deafblindness and vision impairment, cerebral palsy, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, and has a strong interest in assistive technology, gaming, and complex home modifications.
Joshua’s key areas of practice include assistive technology, seating and positioning, social skills development, and post‑school transitions. He brings a collaborative, coaching‑style approach to therapy, working closely with families, support networks, and broader systems to build skills and confidence. His focus is on upskilling others and ensuring strategies and interventions are embedded across all environments to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Joshua has completed training in Auslan (Basic), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Mental Health First Aid, postural and seating interventions, complex home modifications, and a wide range of equipment and assistive technology. He is known for his practical problem‑solving skills and his ability to support both clients and colleagues to grow and thrive.
Outside of work, Joshua is a social and active person who enjoys staying fit, being outdoors, and exploring new places. Having lived abroad, he loves travelling and experiencing different cultures, and values connection, humour, and balance in everyday life. Joshua brings this same energy into his work, creating positive, connected environments where clients, families, and teams feel supported. What he loves most about his role is supporting people to build confidence and independence, while also mentoring staff and contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
