What drove you to choose a career in your discipline?

I was intrigued by the Speech Pathology profession from a very young age. My brother had seen a Speech Pathologist for a few years, and I remember sitting in on his therapy sessions thinking how rewarding (and totally awesome) it would be to be that special person that will support someone to achieve their communication goals. So, here I am!

Do you have any special interest areas in therapy?

My special area of interest is in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). I enjoy working with my clients, their families, and their supports, to get the right equipment for them, to ensure that they are able to communicate and participate to the best of their ability.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

I’m constantly learning and growing every day, no day is ever the same! I love being out on the road – supporting clients to achieve their communication goals across all of their environments (home, school and out in the community).
