What drove you to choose a career in your discipline?

I was initially so interested in watching children acquire language and wanted to learn more about the profession. During my studies, I discovered more about speech pathologists’ broad scope of practice (i.e. beyond language acquisition and articulation), and this ignited my passion for all things speech pathology.

Do you have any special interest areas in therapy?

My interest areas include early language acquisition, mealtimes, dysphagia, literacy and social skills. I am also studying to become an Autism Assessor and hope to support clients in this area in the not-too-distant future.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

No two days are the same. I get to play lots of games and laugh lots on a daily basis. I love being a part of a profession where you can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
