What drove you to choose a career in your discipline?
I chose speech pathology because I love helping people and value the power of communication to connect us. I really enjoy the creative side of the profession—no two sessions are the same, and I’m passionate about being people‑centred and supporting clients in ways that are meaningful to them.

Do you have any special interest areas in therapy?
I have a strong interest in multimodal communication and AAC, and I enjoy exploring how different tools can support clients’ everyday communication. I also love working with social communication clients, getting to know their individual communication styles and supporting them throughout their journey. Neurological rehabilitation is another area I’m passionate about, as it’s very meaningful to support people as they adapt and rebuild their communication following life‑changing events.

What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of my job is getting to know clients and families and seeing the world through their perspectives. I feel very privileged to support people to communicate in ways that are meaningful to them, take greater control of their communication, and create positive changes in their own lives. I also love that I’m constantly learning and growing through each interaction.
