Early Childhood Intervention
Superyou Therapy is a NDIS registered provider of early childhood intervention (ECI) services in the Perth metro area. With hubs in Bassendean, Cannington, Fremantle, and Wanneroo, you can come to our clinics, or we can travel to you! Our therapists can deliver early childhood intervention at the child’s home, school, or day care.
At Superyou Therapy, we recognise the important role parents, family members, teachers and educators play in their child’s success. We are committed to working with all of the meaningful people in a child’s life to explore new ways to support children to be their best self.
We’ll work in partnership with you and your family to achieve the best outcomes for your child.

What is Early Childhood Intervention?
Early Childhood Intervention is all about giving young children the best possible start in life. At Superyou, we focus on:
- Connection and relationships
- Play and communication
- Motivation and meaningful goals
We emphasise for Early Childhood Intervention to be focused on a natural, relationship focused approach that prioritises connection, communication, motivation and play. Children learn best in their natural learning environments, which includes at home, in the community, and educational centres.

By prioritising a child’s interests and motivations, we are able to individualise our interactions and explore connection in a way that emphasises parent-child relationships, supports social connection styles, honours neurodivergence and encourages parents to build on their deep understanding of their child.
As a result, we work with you to ensure we are using opportunities to provide individualised services that use a collaborative approach, to ensure that goals are meaningful, achievable and functional for the whole family, and embedded within natural learning environments, based on routines specific to your family.
A Neuroaffirming Approach
At Superyou Therapy we acknowledge that all children have differences in their abilities and how they experience and interact with the world around them. We do not consider these to be deficits that need to be “fixed”. Rather, we believe the world should be accepting of people’s differences in how they think, learn, process, and perceive information.
Examples of neurodiversity include: Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and so much more!
Our goal in Early Childhood Intervention is to use a person centred, neuroaffirming approach, that can support children to develop a positive neurodivergent identity, by understanding their strengths and differences and how they can advocate for themselves in various situations. We want to support your child to be their best self.
What Are Developmental Relationship Based Interventions?
At Superyou, we use something called Developmental Relationship Based Interventions (DRBIs). This simply means we focus on your child’s relationships, development and interests.
Here is what that looks like:
- We use play and real-life experiences to support learning
- We follow your child’s interests and motivations
- We build strong connections between children and the important people in their lives
- We support communication and interaction in ways that feel natural for your child
Rather than aiming for specific behaviours, we focus on helping your child develop their ability to connect, engage and grow through fun and meaningful interactions.
We have therapists trained in intervention approaches such as Hanen More Than Words, Circle of Security, the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions Model and the PAIR Model, all of which align with the umbrella term of DRBI’s.
Four Key Strategies We Use
- Play together
We use your child’s favourite activities to create enjoyable shared moments. - Respond to your child’s cues
We help you notice and respond to the small ways your child communicates, helping you build strong shared understanding. - Follow their lead
We join your child in what they are interested in and support them to explore and enjoy the experience. - Present gentle challenges
Once your child feels connected and engaged, we introduce small, playful challenges to help them grow their skills. These challenges are always based on your child’s focus and comfort level.
Why This Approach Works
- It builds connection and trust between children and adults
- Children feel safe, confident and understood
- Learning happens more naturally when children are relaxed and engaged
- Parents feel empowered, involved and supported
