As service delivery in regional and remote areas involves additional travel time and operational costs, pricing is applied in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, using the Modified Monash Model (MMM) classification system.
How Regional & Remote Pricing Works
The NDIS applies location-based price loadings to ensure participants living outside metropolitan areas can access sustainable services.
Pricing is determined by the location where the service is delivered, not where the provider is based.
Under the NDIS:
- MMM 1–5 (Metro & Regional areas)
Standard NDIS price limits apply
- Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology: $193.99 / hour
- MMM 6 (Remote areas)
Price limits include a 40% loading
- Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology: $271.59 / hour
- MMM 7 (Very Remote areas)
Price limits include a 50% loading
- Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology: $290.99 / hour
These loadings are built into the NDIS price caps and are applied automatically where eligible.
You can check your MMM Region here: Modified Monash Model. There is also a fact sheet here: Modified Monash Model – fact sheet.
South West & Great Southern Coverage
Across the South West and Great Southern, service locations may fall within the MMM 4, MMM 5, and, in some outer areas, the MMM 6 classifications.
Where a service location is classified as remote (MMM 6), the relevant NDIS remote pricing applies. This ensures continued access to high-quality allied health services across regional WA.
